Searchlight Pictures finally set a release date Eva Longoriadirectorial debut Flamin Hot. This feature will be streaming exclusively on Hulu later this year. Function based on life Richard Montañezwho invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Movie follows Jesse Garcia like Montañez, the son of a Mexican immigrant. He came up with the idea for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos inspired by the tastes of his community and in turn changed the food industry forever.
Montañez took a job as a janitor at Frito-Lay in 1976 at the age of 18 and decided he would be “the best janitor Frito-Lay had ever seen”. Eager to make his presence felt, he took pride in his work and soon began to get to know the products and inner workings of the company better. Things changed for him when, in the mid-1980s, the company’s CEO issued a call to every employee to “behave like an owner” in an effort to boost morale. Knowing nothing better, he called the CEO to pitch his idea for the flavored product we now know as Flamin Hot Cheetos, making it a global phenomenon.
Longoria directs the script Lewis Colick and Linda Yvette Chavez. Proud of her community and showing excitement for the new feature, Langoria said at the end of production last August, “I am honored to lead this team, telling a beautiful story where people can see themselves in these characters and are inspired by the endless beauty and talent. with which our community is so rich.” Sharing her excitement, she said, “Every day we were on set, our amazing cast and crew reminded me time and time again that our community is smart, creative, and endlessly talented.”
In the film, Garcia plays the inspiring Richard Montañez. Annie Gonzalez plays his wife Judy. Further rounding of the cast Dennis Haysbert, Emilio RiveraEmmy winner Tony Shalhoub, Matt Walsh, Pepe Serna, Bobby Soto, Jimmy Gonzalez, and a TikTok star Bryce Gonzalez. Also in the ensemble play Vanessa Martinez, Fabian Alomar, Mario Ponce and Hunter Jones.
The film is seen through the lens of a cinematographer. Federico Cantiniand the music was written by a Brazilian composer Marcelo Zarvos. DeVon Franklin from Franklin Entertainment produced this film. With a diverse cast and crew at the forefront, Flamin Hot sure to catch the attention of fans to learn more about their favorite snack and its inventor.
