Exit third Kill Bill the film may be preliminary for now, but thanks to SZApopular Quentin Tarantino movie can watch her latest music video for her song Kill Bill for much-needed consolation as they keep hoping that the ace author will rush to make this trilogy sooner rather than later. The song for the music video is entirely an homage to the popular movie, in which SZA avenges The Bride wearing a red version of the character’s iconic yellow suit with a black version of the bangs hairstyle. from Uma Thurman. Also introduced is the character of Vernita Green, codenamed Copperhead with Vivica A. Fox returns to reprise the role.
Revenge is sweet and SZA enjoys every bit of it in this directed music video Christian Breslauer. The 5 minute video begins with SZA receiving a loving hug followed by a shocking breakup note from her boyfriend who then proceeds to abuse the wound, causing a group of armed men to knock their trailer home with her still inside. Copperhead then arrives and picks her up in his car and takes her away to be trained and groomed for smooth revenge.
While the video doesn’t include the part where Copperhead betrays Beatrix, it does make other references to the film, from Budd’s trailer to the O-Ren anime compilation, and the violence scene in the House of Blue Leaves with Crazy 88 where SZA impales his enemies with a samurai sword. She eventually retaliates by ripping out her former lover’s heart with her blade. In true Beatrix style, SZA closes the video with a tease of more violent revenge as she admits in the closing lyric that her jealousy has gotten the better of her.
The music video certainly leaves us wanting more. Kill Bill and if anything, we hope that when Tarantino sees this, the video will channel his creative juices in the direction of a second sequel. However, the Oscar-winning director hasn’t been entirely silent about the third volume; in a recent appearance on Joe Roganpodcast, he teased the direction he would like the third film to take, saying:
“I think it’s just a return to the characters 20 years later and a simple representation of the Bride and her daughter Bebe living 20 years in peace and then that world collapses,” Tarantino said. “And now the Bride and Bebe are on the run, and the mere thought of playing Uma [Thurman] and left her daughter Maya [Hawke] that would be damn exciting.”
Although her role was cut from the film, Fox disagrees with the idea and even suggested that her character’s daughter Nikkiah Bell be thrown into the mix and Bell go on her own revenge mission to avenge her mother’s death she witnessed. in the final moments of the film. Fox suggested Zendaya was playing the grown-up Bell, while Hawke, on the other hand, said she wouldn’t mind the role, but the ball is in Tarantino’s court and we’re all waiting for the moment he decides to play.
