Ke Hai Quan showed that he would be open to repeating his Goonies character data. While All Everywhere All at once the actor was unable to confirm that a second film would be made, he spoke about the numerous scripts written for a possible sequel.

During an interview at the Golden Globes on Tuesday (as first reported by Deadline), Quan revealed that he had long dreamed of repeating it. Quan revealed that a sequel to the ’80s hit has been in development for over three decades, but a number of issues have forced him to shelve it. “For the last thirty-odd years we have tried to make Goonies 2Kuan said before admitting that the sequel won’t be as successful as Goonies. “We had a lot of scripts, but none of them matched the original.” In addition, the actor admitted the death of the director of the original film, Richard Donnerwhom he called “Captain [their] ship” meant that a sequel would be inappropriate. In June, a spin-off of the film was announced, Nowadayswill be promoted on Disney+, with Gale Berman as a producer.
