Romantic comedy stars Bob Odenkirk (Better call Saul), Radha Mitchell (London has fallen), Danny Huston (succession), as well as Rosie Fellner (Trip to Italy) and is due for release in select theaters and VOD on January 27, 2023, and on AMC+ later this year in April.
Life upside down Set during the COVID-19 lockdown that occurred in 2020, it follows three couples who are trapped in their individual homes in Los Angeles. Now forced to spend all day and night with their significant other, each of them will come face to face with their spouses, friends and lovers before everyone is forced to take an introspective look at themselves and fight with themselves.
A brand new trailer introduces us to these couples, where Odenkirk plays the owner of an art gallery closed due to the pandemic. The trailer mainly focuses on these couples as they are forced to stay at home and spend more time than ever with their loved ones as they try to adjust to the new world. While it opens in a gallery with all the normal stuff, the March 2020 date popping up on the screen tells us it’s only a matter of time before the lockdown, which really comes soon after. The cinematography and sound of the trailer even reflects the difference between the world before and during lockdown, with the camera being very active and moving around the scene prior to lockdown, such as opening a trailer in an art gallery, moving through the stage with clear and professionally made sound, while the scenes during the lockdown were filmed with static footage and worse sound quality, as if it was filmed on a webcam or phone, how people would communicate during the lockdown. While all couples face their loved ones and themselves, Odenkirk also has to contend with the fact that he could lose the gallery.
Life upside down directed and written Cecilia Miniukkiwho also produced the film. Among her fellow producers on the project Geoffrey Coulter, Carl F. Berg, Jason Rose, Rose Kuoas well as Radha Mitchell. The film was executive produced by Fred Rus, Paolo Rossi Pisu, Martha Miniukki, Holly Heitz, Anthony Stutz, Anna Hatzis, John Hatzizas well as Desmond Nakano.
