Dirty, freezing temperatures, little food. This is what the everyday life of many mobilized Russian soldiers in Ukraine looks like, according to the German newspaper Bild. But some military personnel live much more comfortably, causing tension and resentment among others. Among the privileged are militants linked to the forces of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
The terrorist’s fighters are allowed to spend the night in hotels, Bild reports. The publication refers to the testimony of the wife of one of the Russian servicemen, who was allegedly told about this by her husband. She said the same thing to a military psychologist who asked about the attitude towards the war.
“My husband is open and stupid. He expressed his attitude towards this whole war. That the local population is against the occupation, that the Kadyrovites and other elite troops live in hotels, and ordinary soldiers in barracks, in terrible conditions, without supplies and food“, - she said.
Oleg Orlov, activist of the human rights organization Memorial banned in Russiaalso explained the conflicts between Kadyrov’s militants and ordinary Russian soldiers with poor equipment of mobilized soldiers.
“Chechen fighters are better equipped than other troops. It gives rise to envy, and it grows into hatred”, he says.
