These films give us the opportunity to escape from ourselves and immerse ourselves in the lives of these lovable characters.
“Seven pounds” (2008)
This is one of the most incredible and underrated films by Will Smith. As the children say, it literally takes the soul and makes you experience all the feelings. Will Smith’s performance is off the charts and really touches the heavens with its depth and passion. His incredible acting is only surpassed by the amazing story that keeps you wondering throughout the movie.
Combined with an amazing cast Barry Pepper, Rosario Dawson, Octavia Spenceras well as Woody Harrelson’Seven pounds’ this is honestly an amazing movie. Built on the simple premise of a man (Smith) trying to change the lives of seven people by watching them unfold with different twists and turns, this is the perfect movie to really watch.
‘Good Will Hunting’ (1997)

“Passion of the Christ” (2004)
Are you a religious person or not Passion of Christ sets the bar incredibly high. Not only does the film have an incredible cast, it also has several biblical languages spoken throughout (Latin, Hebrew and Aramaic, all of which have been learned and spoken by the actors). This film depicts the terrible last hours of Jesus Christ’s life on earth.
Producer Mel Gibson, this film truly takes the biblical narratives from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and shows the world the harsh reality of the sacrifice that was made for humanity many years ago. It’s a beautiful performance and an incredible film worth watching. While it has a few moments of extreme violence, there is also a more edited version that is more friendly. The success of the film even spawned a sequel in the works.
“A Streetcar Named Desire” (1951)
Based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning play Tram “Desire” 1951 film starring Marlon Brando, Kim Hunteras well as Vivien Leigh. The film touches on topics of infidelity, alcoholism, mental instability, and other topics that were truly taboo at the time of its making, and does so with grace.

It plays a very young Jamie Bell as the title boy. Bell really showed the world what it means to act in this film. At the time of filming, he was only 12 years old, and he completely coped with the role. Although Bell has starred in many amazing films, this one introduced him to the world and showed him that he was definitely worth watching.
‘Whip’ (2014)
If you love music, this is a great movie choice for you. Starring J.K. Simmons, Miles Telleras well as Paul Reiser, Whip follows the story of a jazz student who becomes so entangled in his music teacher’s often abusive methods.
Receiving overall amazing praise across the board and nearly fifty awards, Whiplash is such an amazing film that really touches on the passionate moments that musicians are willing to push themselves into to perfect their craft. Whether you’re a musician or not, this is absolutely worth a look.
