John Boyega back in business and ready to reveal the conspiracy in a new way for They cloned Tyrone. At the Netflix TUDUM event, Jamie Fox provided a first glimpse of his new sci-fi comedy about an unlikely trio of friends confronted by a macabre government secret, and gave a glimpse of Boyega assuming a new persona to match the film’s ’80s vibe.
The first look at Boyega doesn’t reveal much of the movie, but it shows what the actor wants from this comedy. Boyega grew a handsome beard for the role and he certainly stands out in the trailer alongside Fox and Teyonah Parris. Based on the trailer, he seems to be playing straight for his more chaotic co-stars. While he doesn’t wear a bright purple jacket like Fox did, or a stunning multi-faceted yellow and orange outfit like Parris, his stylish jacket and hoodie combo helps him fit into the ’80s aesthetic the film is aiming for.
Boyega has spent a lot of time in the spotlight lately thanks to a new star Wars trilogy and various appearances by his character Finn in TV shows and games. However, more recently, he managed to split the screen with another superstar presence in the form of Viola Davis per woman king. He recently spoke to Collider along with Lashana Lynch as well as Sheila Atim about being on the set of such an intense movie and watching the dedication of everyone who had to train for their own stunts. They cloned Tyrone there should be a more lighthearted romance with the actor comparing the comedy to another movie he starred in, attack the blockin an interview with ComingSoon.net back in 2020.
Along with the trio of Boyega, Fox and Parris, the film also features J. Alphonse Nicholson, Robert Tinsley, Joshua Michelas well as Tamberla Perry. Creed 2 writer Jewel Taylor directed the film in his feature debut and co-wrote the screenplay with Tony Rettenmeier. Producers include the founder and CEO of Macro. Charles D. King, Steven Doctor. Love, Kim Rothas well as Datari Turner along with Taylor, Rettenmeier and Fox. Mark R. Wright executive producer for Macro Jack Murray. Despite the release of the trailer, the larger plot details of the film are still a mystery.
