When will Black Panther: Wakanda Forever be released?
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever due to be released November 11, 2022. The film was previously scheduled for May 6, 2022 and then July 8, 2022 before eventually being set for its current November release date.
Due to the sudden and unexpected death of Chadwick Boseman, the film had to be remade, delaying production. Right now it looks like the movie is back on track with a very promising cast.
Who is in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?
In December 2020, President of Marvel Studios. Kevin Feige announced that T’Challa’s role would be don’t be redone per Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Speaking about the decision during Disney’s Investor’s Day event, Feige said:
“Chadwick Boseman was an extremely talented actor and an inspiring individual who influenced our entire lives professionally and personally. His portrayal of T’Challa, the Black Panther, is iconic and surpasses any iteration of the character in any other medium from Marvel’s past. And it’s for this reason that we won’t be recasting the character.”
While the King may not be present in the story, we will see quite a few characters from the first film returning in the sequel. Cast for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever includes Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Tenoch Huerta, Mikaela Coelas well as Dominic Thorn.
Who are the confirmed characters in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?
Without my title character Black Panther: Wakanda Forever going to focus more on the various supporting characters that appeared in the first film. And some reports suggest the film will also feature some highly anticipated classic characters, but we’ll get to that. First, returning characters:
Lupita Nyong’o will reprise her role as Nakia, T’Challa’s former lover and member of Wakanda’s Wardogs spy ring. She’s from the River Tribe and at the end Black PantherT’Challa assigned her to lead Wakanda’s new humanitarian program.
Danai Gurira will play Okoye. One of the most popular characters is featured in Black Panther, Okoye is the head of Dor Milahe, T’Challa’s all-female honor guard and, in effect, Wakanda’s Special Forces unit. Gurira is also expected to reprise her role in the as yet untitled film. spin-off series on Disney+.
Florence Kasumba will play Ayo, one of the Dora Milahs. First presented in Captain America: Civil War, Ayo is a fierce and loyal warrior. Kasumba also played the character in Falcon and Winter Soldierwhere it was revealed that she helped cure Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) his brainwashing HYDRA.
Martin Freeman will return as Everett K. Ross, a CIA agent rescued by T’Challa. We don’t actually know if Ross returned to America at the end Black Panther or got dusty during Snap in Avengers: Infinity War. Black Panther 2 there will be a chance to catch up with the character and find out what he was doing in this strange new world.
Letitia Wright will play T’Challa’s younger sister, Shuri. One of the smartest people in the MCU, Shuri designs Wakanda’s technological advances. There were rumors that Shuri might have a bigger role in the sequel than in the first film. Although it has yet to be confirmed, Shuri did indeed become the Queen of Wakanda and the Black Panther in the comics at the time T’Challa lost both titles. Angela Bassett will also return as Ramonda, Shuri and T’Challa’s mother.
Winston Duke will appear as M’Baku, the leader of Wakandan’s hill tribe, the Jabari. A powerful warrior and occasional ally of T’Challa, M’Baku may not be as global a superhero as his king, but he’s still quite a formidable force.
Michael B. Jordanwho played antagonist Eric Killmonger in Black Panther, previously said he was willing to return to the MCU if asked. We don’t know if anyone else has asked him, but fans would definitely like to see him again.
In terms of new characters, Dominic Thorne will play Riri Williams, the superhero known as Ironheart. Riri is a brilliant inventor on par with the late Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and creates armor equal to it. A relatively new addition to the comics, Ironheart has been quite popular since her debut, and it looks like the character will play a big role in the MCU. Thorne will also play Riri in Iron heart Disney+ series.
Tenoch Huerta will play the submariner Namor, King of Atlantis. Basically Marvel’s Aquaman (despite Namor debuting two years before the DC character), fans have been hoping to see the iconic anti-hero in the MCU for a very, very long time, and now he’s finally about to arrive.
Mikaela Coel will play Aneka, who in the comics is Dora Milaje’s combat instructor.
Does Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have a trailer?
The first official trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiered at San Diego Comic-Con and was released online on July 23, 2022. Bob Marley and The Wailers”No Woman No Cry” performed Thames remix with Kendrick LamarAll Right shows off the movie’s great visuals as Wakanda mourns the death of King T’Challa and Namor prepares his city of Atlantis for war. The trailer ends with a teaser of one of the Wakanda women donning the Black Panther mantle.
When does Black Panther: Wakanda Forever start filming?
Production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever began on June 29, 2021 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia under the working title “Summer Vacation”. Filming is expected to last up to six months. Prior to Boseman’s death, filming was scheduled to begin in March 2021, but production was delayed to allow the writers to properly and tastefully rework the story.
The film was also filmed in Worcester and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In the comics, Riri Williams is an engineering student at MIT, so it’s possible that the scenes filmed there contain her representation. On August 25, Letitia Wright suffered minor injuries in an accident while filming a stunt in Boston. The actor was temporarily hospitalized but was expected to recover quickly.
When does Black Panther: Wakanda Forever take place?
Although the exact dates Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has not yet been revealed, it can be assumed that this takes place after the events Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness as well as Thor: Love and Thunder.
In terms of the year Black Panther: Wakanda Forever should take place sometime in 2023 or possibly 2024. Times are a little weird for the MCU right now, especially with time travel and multiverse shenanigans confusing everyone. But what we know for sure is that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will take place in a post-Blip world where global boundaries are still shifting and humanity as a whole is slowly moving towards recovery. What is the best time for Atlantis to finally make its presence known to the surface world?
What is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever plot?
What do we know about Black Panther: Wakanda ForeverThe script is such that it will be an emotional romance. A lot of the actors have talked about how weird it is to make this movie without their favorite star.
“Reading the script was very emotional,” said Winston Duke. Collider in July 2021. “It was exciting to get ready to go back to the set. But now we’re all a bit of a family and we mourn together and we’re doing something really special.”
The official plot synopsis from Marvel Studios reads:
In Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and Dora Milahe (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from interference from world powers following the death of King T’Challa. As the people of Wakanda struggle to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must team up with the help of the war dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Featuring Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominic Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli.
The existence of Atlantis has previously been teased with Easter eggs and offhand comments in iron Man 2 as well as Avengers: Endgame. In the comics, Wakanda and Atlantis have been at war before, with truly devastating consequences. If this indeed turns out to be the plot of the upcoming movie, it will definitely be quite a visual spectacle. However, Wakanda is landlocked, so exactly how the Atlanteans plan to launch their attack is another matter altogether. But hey, that didn’t stop them in the comics, so they’ll probably find a way here too.
