There is another version of the case of a high-profile housing investment in Warsaw. Minister Waldemar Buda speaks of the “staggering results of the audit”.

Investments in housing on the street. The Mediterranean Sea in Warsaw Stegnom will be suspended. This is one of the most famous examples of a so-called pompous developer who also became the subject of political games.

Patoinvestments in Warsaw blocked

“Corruption of control results! We’re stopping this build! Cells, corridors are combined into apartments and are sold as rooms! Lack of adequate sunlight. Parking is larger than in the project and without an ecological solution. We send notifications to PINB and UOKiK!” – Minister of Development and Technology Waldemar Buda wrote on Twitter.

This is the next step in the discussion of this particular investment, and also a step towards the changes in the approach to developers announced by the Minister. During a recent TweetUp, the head of the Ministry of Development acknowledged that the fight against violations in the housing market is one of the current priorities in the government’s new policy.

Political showdown

Between the railing of the balconies of the new building and the existing wall of the terraced house is a little more than a meter. According to “Gazeta Wyborcza”, the Warsaw City Hall refused to issue a building permit. However, in 2018, the voivodship office headed by PiS-affiliated Zdzisław Sipiera agreed to such a request.

- The case did not concern the issue of remoteness from neighboring buildings. This development of the path is connected with something completely different, there was a complaint about sloppy officials who broke the rules, so the governor had to fix it, Minister Buda said on Radio 3, responding to the allegations.

A year before this decision, the construction conditions were issued in the absence of a spatial development plan. Therefore, balconies right next to the wall comply with current regulations. - If there was a spatial development plan, we could indicate how this structure should look like. This is the source of the problem, the minister said.
