Car sharing in Poland is gaining popularity. Thanks to the younger generation

Car sharing is becoming one of the most important services changing Polish transport. With growing awareness of sustainable mobility and the dynamic sharing economy business trend, more and more people are ditching their own car in favor of a car per mile service.

The latest report on car rental times published by Santander Consumer Multirent shows that one in five Poles use car rental services for personal purposes. This means that more and more people are appreciating the benefits of using a service that provides a greater choice of car models and brands, the ability to choose a car for specific needs, or the absence of the formalities associated with car ownership.

New generation of clients

Traficar, a well-known car sharing brand in Poland, presented data that clearly show the growth of interest in the service. Polish users of the brand use the application by 15 percent. more often than last year. One of the leaders in shared mobility also recorded 98 percent. an increase in the number of new registrations compared to the same period in 2022.

“Currently, a generation of consumers is entering the market who are not considering buying their own car, but prefer to use car sharing services. This shift in perspective has a significant impact on how carsharing is evolving, indicating that it is not just a passing trend, but the real future of urban mobility. To meet this need, our fleet has grown by 16% over the year. in every city where we are. We expect further growth in the second half of the year,” says Konrad Karpinski, COO of the Traficar brand.

Shorter routes

Data from the Santander Consumer Multirent report shows as much as 16 percent. drivers who decide to rent a car regularly use this option as an alternative to their own vehicle or traveling by taxi and public transport. Traficar data also confirms this trend among users, whose average route length is slightly shorter than in previous years. This indicates an increase in shorter trips in urban areas.
