What makes drivers recommend this car service to family and friends? Castrol has researched this.
A new nationwide survey commissioned by Castrol shows that drivers are more likely to recommend a shop that “will contact them about work that may need to be done before the meeting” (an issue mentioned by 26% of respondents). Two other important factors influencing service recommendation are “past car troubleshooting” (mentioned by 26% of respondents) and “friendly staff” (25%).
Knowledge is important for customers
The survey also revealed potential concerns about the cost of services and the importance of service providers explaining planned work. As many as 23 percent of those surveyed would recommend a service that “explains in detail the rates for the work carried out when collecting a car.”
Websites that provide friendly service can also count on customer referrals, at 23 percent. of respondents would recommend a service that “explains all required work and asks for client approval before doing it”, and 23% would recommend a service that is “in a convenient location”.
This does not apply to Polish drivers.
The study also identified factors that had the least effect on drivers’ willingness to recommend a garage. Only 4 percent of respondents would recommend the service because of free Wi-Fi access, and 7 percent. due to the offer of hot and cold drinks. Services also don’t have to worry about having to provide a video explaining the work they’ve done because it’s only 6 percent. drivers are interested in such materials.
