The harsh winter brought on by the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and the accompanying embargo on Russian furnace coal did not come as a blow to everyone. Millions of Poles were looking for cheap fuel for the approaching frosts, and Polish mines doubled and tripled to provide them with raw materials. They benefited measurably from it.

End of one of the harshest winters
JSW’s financial report coincided with a meeting of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, during which the head of government said that one of the most difficult winters in history is over.
