The Competition and Consumer Protection Authority announced Wednesday that it has imposed a financial fine on Raiffeisen Bank International.

WOKiK: Raiffeisen Bank clients were confused

“Raiffeisen Bank International illegally unilaterally changed the mortgage loan agreement in terms of new account numbers for repayment and servicing loans. As a result, consumers were confused - they did not know which account to pay money to, which led to delays in the repayment of installments, and in some situations, the initiation of debt collection from borrowers, ”the UOKiK said.

– Raiffeisen Bank International did not have the right to unilaterally change loan agreements, especially in such an important issue for consumers as the method of loan repayment. Such changes must be made with the consent of both parties in the form of an application. Therefore, we decided that the bank was misleading consumers by spreading false information about new accounts. - commented the president of UCWC Tomasz Khrostny.
