The winter ski jumping season is slowly coming to an end. There are two more weekends ahead with the World Championship, which will end in Planica. Before that, however, the players will meet in Lahti. In Finland, we are waiting for two competitions - team and individual. On March 23 we found out the full team that Thomas Turnbichler will take to this competition.
Poland ski jumping team at the World Cup in Lahti
It is obvious that David Kubacki will not be in the white-red team. The 33-year-old has already pulled out of the last Raw Air competition due to his wife’s health issues. He currently resides in Poland and looks after his partner. In a short statement he posted on his social media, he wrote that the 2022/23 season is over for him and we should not expect him to return to the hill this spring.
As a result, one place was vacated in the team, which Turnbichler decided to develop for talented youth. The list of nominated jumpers appeared on the official Twitter profile of the Polish Ski Association. Among others, it depicts Jan Habdas. The 20-year-old last jumped on the A-team in Rasnov, and even earlier in Lake Placid. So he returns to the main team after a month break. In addition to him, Tomasz Pilch is going to Finland. Who also competed in the USA and Romania. Interestingly, both players participated in the Lahti competition last weekend, but already within the Continental Cup.
In addition to them, the Polish team also included more experienced jumpers. This weekend we will see Kamil Stoch and Piotr Zyla in action. The team also included Alexander Znishhol and Pavel Vonsek.
