Financial earthquake in PZPN. The Association announces the termination of sponsorship agreements

The end of the year and the end of the World Cup in Qatar are the two coinciding dates until which most of the sponsorship agreements of the Polish Football Association were in effect.

PZPN loses key sponsors

On January 2, the union announced the termination of cooperation with some of the team’s current sponsors.

“The Polish Football Association informs that at the end of 2022 the contracts with the Official Sponsors of the Polish National Team: T-Mobile and OSHEE, as well as with the Official Partners of the Polish National Team: 99RENT and Ustronianka expired” – we read in the communiqué of the Polish Football Association.

The trade union also wrote that in the coming days they will inform the public about the new partners of the national team, with whom contracts have been signed since January 1, 2023.

– We are finalizing negotiations both with our current, long-term and proven partners, as well as with new companies that want to invest in sports – said PZPN general secretary Lukasz Wachowski.

Ladybug may retreat

At the end of December, unofficial information spread in the media that Geronimo Martins, the owner of the Biedronka network, may refuse to sponsor PZPN. The brand has been supporting staff for 12 years. Cooperation was established on the eve of the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.

One of the reasons for the company’s decision was the confusion that broke out around the employees. We are talking about the so-called bonus scandal, that is, allegedly sharing the bonuses promised by the Prime Minister during the World Cup. The case, in fact, is the only thing that is still being talked about in the media, despite the fact that the World Cup ended for Poland after the match with France on December 4th. The revulsion is so great that it could cost the PZPN millions of losses.

The matter was to change with the dismissal of coach Cheslav Mikhnevich. On the day of the announcement of the termination of cooperation with him, information also appeared in the media that Bedronka could stay in the team longer.
