I have worked in the news industry for over 10 years. I have been an author at Daily News Hack for the past 1 year. I mostly cover sports news, but I also have a keen interest in current affairs and politics. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my family.

Markus Eisenbichler has been in bad shape lately. That is why the ski jumper has been seriously considering withdrawing from the Four Hills Tournament for several days now. He has now made his final decision on the matter.

The Four Hills Tournament is one of the most important events of every winter ski jumping season. The results obtained in it push and drive some to even greater success in the coming months, while others are only depressing. Markus Eisenbichler has recently found himself on the other, negative side, and even considered withdrawing from the competition.

Recall that we are now halfway to TCS. Competitions in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen are over. One of the players who had ambitious plans for them, as well as the players in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen, was Markus Eisenbichler. However, from the very beginning of this prestigious event, things have been going very badly for the German. So much so that neither the first nor the second time he managed to get into the final round. Then he took 33rd and 32nd place, respectively - clearly below his capabilities.

The 31-year-old athlete had doubts about whether to continue fighting and take part in competitions in which he almost immediately lost his chance to take a high place, not to mention his dreams of a podium. However, in the end, he decided that he would not refuse to participate in the Four Hills Tournament. In an interview with sport.pl, he explained why.

Ski jumping. Markus Eisenbichler explained why he made such a decision

– I talked a lot with Stefan Horngacher and Michal Dolezal. It was a good, constructive meeting. I told them what I thought about it and they presented me with their plan. “You have to have a purpose and a direction. And the World Cup is getting closer.” It will be a big challenge for me, but I want to get in good shape and start in them,” Eizenibihler said.

The German showed that if it were not for the breeder of the team of our western neighbors and his assistant, he probably would have refused further starts in TCS. “They showed me the right way. I believed their words and regained my confidence. I am enjoying jumping again,” he concluded.
