Aeroflot lost access to films and music. They offer passengers to clear their phone memory or write a thank you letter to flight attendants.
Aeroflot has informed passengers that from December 1, there will no longer be access to films and music on Airbus A320, Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 aircraft. The reason is “refusal to provide services by foreign suppliers”.
There will be no music or films on board the 137 modern aircraft of the fleet. The company has only 40 other models, so the disconnection from utilities applies to the vast majority of cars.
Alternative for passengers
For passengers who will be doomed to sit in a seat without access to entertainment, the company suggests that they finish reading books from this year’s reading list and clear the memory in their mobile phone.
“Probably there are ten identical photos of your pet,” Aeroflot said in a Telegram message. The company also offers meditation, writing flight reviews and thanking flight attendants, as well as naps.
“We are already working on a new native solution that we will be happy to present to you in the New Year!” - says the Russian carrier.
Aeroflot problems
The Russian carrier has been hit hard by international sanctions following Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Boeing and Airbus suspended cooperation with Russia. The first of the fears is based on sanctions imposed by the United States, the second is based on EU regulations. This means not only that Aeroflot will no longer buy new aircraft, but also that it will not have access to spare parts. The situation is not only inconvenient and problematic for economic reasons, but above all very dangerous for potential passengers.
In order to be able to serve the fleet, the national carrier decided to decommission some of the vehicles and dismantle them. Thanks to this, he will be able to serve the rest of the aircraft remaining in service.
