“I can guarantee that it will be processed faster than before,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Thursday, referring to the work on the wind farm law.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Thursday that the internal discussions of the so-called wind farm act, and now it will be processed faster.
“Everything related to accelerating investment in renewable energy without the need to remove obstacles in transmission networks and increase capacity in conventional energy will be done in an accelerated manner,” the head of government said.
“The government is reviewing the law on the wind farm, but I cannot promise that we will leave a minimum distance of 500 meters from the windmill to the buildings,” he added.
windmill law
the so-called Law on Wind Farms is a decision that was supposed to regulate the development of the wind part of renewable energy in Poland. Most experts have already argued that the law is likely to make building windmills nearly impossible.
It is most commonly referred to as the 10H Law. This abbreviation indicates its merits and the factor that de facto caused a significant slowdown in the development of the market in Poland since 2016, and in some parts of the country, a complete stop. 10H is nothing more than the legally prescribed distance that must be observed from nearby buildings in order to be able to place a new windmill. This is ten times the height of a windmill mast.
The draft amendment to the law, which was placed in the parliamentary freezer, included the principle of maintaining a minimum distance of 500 meters from buildings. However, this caused a lot of resistance from some coalition partners, as well as members of Law and Justice. However, the industry believes that this type of regulatory liberalization could increase the amount of land available for investment in wind farms by a factor of 25.
