Law and Justice politicians refute media reports about government plans to introduce a 15th pension. We asked the Office of the President whether President Andrzej Duda, who was the first to publicly raise the issue of paying this allowance, intends to intervene in this matter.

As Gazeta Wyborcza reported two weeks ago, a group of Law and Justice deputies demanded that Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and head of the party Jarosław Kaczynski introduce the 15th pension in 2023, i.e. in the election year. is paid only once and without an income criterion, which means that “fifteen” in full (probably PLN 1,588.44, i.e. the minimum old-age pension) will be received by all pensioners, and not, as in the case of 14 -th old-age pension, pensioners whose pension does not exceed PLN 2900 gross. According to Wyborcea, this idea was approved by the PiS President, who should also have the support of President Andrzej Duda.

15. retirement. President’s proposal

It is worth recalling that it was the president who raised the topic of paying the 15th pension during his re-election campaign in 2020. - I hope that there will be a 14th pension, God forbid that the 15th pension will be later, until we get to the point where we will significantly increase all pension payments for the state, because this is important - said the president two years ago.

Politicians of the ruling party in public statements deny the newspaper’s reports and stress that no benefits are planned. PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek announced this on the air of Polish Radio today. - It is not on the table (15th pension - ed.). There are no discussions on this at the moment. Khleb said.

Commentary of the Office of the President

Due to the fact that the idea of the 15th pension came from President Andrzej Duda, we asked the Office of the President if the head of state was planning any actions aimed at introducing this benefit.
