Also in Poland, from time to time, we deal with cowboys who take what they consider their own. So it was in the vicinity of Novy Sanch. It ended badly for the daredevil.
A 37-year-old resident of Nowy Sącz poviat took someone else’s car from his site and went for a ride, despite the fact that his driver’s license was revoked. In addition, he refueled the car at one of the gas stations and left without paying. He was also running from the Grybów police who wanted to stop him for a road check. The man has already been charged. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
At about 7:30 am, the Grybowsky district police station received information that one of the residents was driving without a driver’s license, most likely in a stolen car. A patrol was immediately dispatched to the said area, but did not notice the vehicle described by the applicant.
After driving a few kilometers, in Florinca, the police noticed a Peugeot car with the indicated registration numbers. Therefore, they turned on the sound and light signals in the police car and tried to stop the driver for roadside control. However, he suddenly accelerated, but after driving several tens of meters, he lost control of the road at the turn of the road and stopped on a nearby slope. The policemen rushed to the car. Seeing that everything was in order with the driver, they removed the keys from the ignition, preventing him from continuing his journey.
He got into fantasy
During the identification process, it turned out that a 37-year-old resident of Nowy Sącz poviat cannot drive a vehicle due to his revoked license. The man was sober. He explained that he was running away from the patrol because he thought he was being followed by fake cops. Then the key circumstance came to light that around midnight, a 37-year-old man from a property in one of the towns of Nowy Sącz took a Peugeot parked there, which was unlocked and the keys were inside the car. The man before the trip decided to refuel. At the gas station, he poured gasoline into the tank and left without paying.
On the same day, the man was charged with taking the vehicle for short-term use, driving the vehicle after the license was revoked, and not stopping for a roadside inspection. For these crimes, he faces imprisonment for a term of 3 months to 5 years. In addition, a resident of the Nowosącz poviat will be liable for the theft of fuel, which in this case is an offense.
