A unique collection of Toyota rally and racing cars from the past 50 years at the Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe Motorsport Museum in Cologne will be open to the public for the first time. This year, six theme days are planned from May to September.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe Motorsport Museum in Cologne has a unique collection of rally and racing cars that have represented the Japanese brand in the most prestigious competitions around the world. Until now, only employees of Toyota Gazoo Racing and invited guests have had access to the collection. From May 11, on certain days, the exhibition can be visited by groups of up to 24 people. The tour lasts 90 minutes, guests are constantly accompanied by a guide. The cost of visiting is 420 euros for the whole group.

Only 6 days for visitors

This year, the museum has planned six days during which you can get acquainted with the Toyota collection. Each of them will have their own theme. On May 11 and July 21, the main theme will be the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, on August 4 and September 22, the time will be devoted to cars from the WEC, WRC and F1, on August 25, the history of the Toyota Rally until 1999 will be devoted. presented, and on September 29, visitors will learn in detail about the history of Toyota in Formula 1. 1.

The museum is located in Cologne at the Technology Center Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe. Exhibition halls are located under two wind tunnels, which are used daily by various departments. During the tour there will be no shortage of unique sights. On May 11, visitors to the museum will be able to hear how the GT-One’s 3.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine sounds.

Important exhibits at the Toyota Museum

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe Motorsport Museum in Cologne introduces Toyota’s history in international motorsport from 1973 to the present day. This is the only place in the world where you can see all the cars that have won the iconic Le Mans race for the Japanese marque. It is important to note that each of these cars is presented in the condition in which it was immediately after the end of the 24-hour competition, i.e. with minor damage, dust and racing dirt. The only thing missing from the collection is a 2020 TS050 HYBRID, which was loaned to the 24 Hours of Le Mans museum.

Visitors can follow Toyota’s history of endurance racing, including the Group C prototype TS010, the world’s only roadworthy GT-One, the TS040 HYBRID, which won the brand’s first championship title, and the LMP1 and Hypercar class cars.

The museum displays all generations of Toyota Formula 1 cars from the 2001 TF101 to the TF109 that competed in the 2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. An important part of the exhibition is also the exhibition dedicated to the start of Toyota in the World Rally Championship, where you can admire such unique cars as the Group B Toyota Celica Twincam Turbo, nicknamed the “Queen of Africa”.
