The Cabinet of Ministers banned the import of motor fuel of uncertain origin - the corresponding decision was voted at a meeting on May 9. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Energy Nikolay Kolesnik.
“Despite numerous sanctions, bans and embargoes of fuels of Russian origin, oil, oil products got into the EU countries, Turkey and other countries, and from there to our market as a resource of uncertain origin”, — said the official on Facebook.
Since, according to market participants, such a resource is sold at a discount, this makes it economically unprofitable for alternative routes for the supply of non-russian fuel, which the market was actively building, overcoming last year’s shortage.
Therefore, the import ban will apply to the following types of goods:
-
oil and oil products obtained from bituminous rocks (minerals), crude;
-
oil and oil products obtained from bituminous rocks (minerals), except for crude ones;
-
products containing 70 wt.% oil or oil products derived from bituminous rocks (minerals);
-
waste oil products;
-
gases, oil and other hydrocarbons in the gaseous state;
-
alternative fuel;
-
biodiesel and mixtures thereof, not containing or containing less than 70 wt.% of oil or oil products obtained from bituminous rocks.
Recall that in early March, a downward trend in prices was noticed on the auto fuel market in Ukraine.
