At the last meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, a decision was made to improve the procedure for paying this compensation, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs reported.
In particular, the Cabinet of Ministers granted the right to receive monetary compensation for the purchase of housing by war veterans with disabilities of groups I-II, which occurred as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the families of the dead (deceased) defenders.
The innovations also provide for the creation of a mechanism for exercising the right to receive monetary compensation by citizens to whom such payments were assigned in 2018-2022, and have not yet been paid, and after a full-scale invasion by Russia, they were forced to move from the occupied territory or from the one where hostilities are taking place. .
In 2023, the relevant ministry plans to distribute subventions from the state budget for the payment of monetary compensation under three budget programs in the amount of UAH 5.5 billion twice - in April and June.
Officials expect that such innovations will have a positive result both for veterans and their families, and for the state, which is interested in proper adaptation and provision of housing for defenders.
