Cleaning a velvet sofa, upholstered furniture, or suede shoes can also often be tricky. However, do not use water to wash delicate fabrics. If you want to keep these soft, fuzzy fabrics spotless, vacuum the dirt frequently with a soft brush.

Staining is easy on kitchen countertops. However, if you have a marble or stone countertop, never use water to clean it. These are cellular materials, water can damage them and remove the protective sealant.
