In Kyiv, work on the 12-episode ironic detective story “Hot” (ICTV) has been completed. It is known that the shooting of the picture was interrupted with the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. But already in the early autumn of 2022, the film crew gathered again to complete the work.
The team had to rewrite the script and create a safe filming plan in the new realities. The group abandoned night scenes and shots with loud explosions and gunshots. In addition, they rewrote scenes with actors who could not return to their usual work: they were forced to move abroad or went to fight at the front. In order not to endanger the team, they organized a film set in parking lots, where they disguised walls as restaurants, apartments and set up the necessary scenery.
The lead actor - Policeman Hot - is popular actor Artemy Egorov admits that when he received an invitation to continue filming, he cried for ten minutes. “Until this moment, it seemed to me that nothing good could happen anymore,” - said Artemy in an exclusive interview with FACTS.
- Artemy, many of your colleagues did not believe that filming could begin during the war.
“And I was one of the few believers. By the way, my friend, the director, convinced: there will be nothing for five years. But it turned out: ICTV decided to shoot the series “Hot”. I remember that I immediately called my friend back with the words: “I told you so!” Then they began to shoot commercials, short films. Everyone began to come to their senses, and it filled me with faith that everything would be fine. To be honest, there was no desire to go to work as a loader or taxi driver.
- Was it difficult with money?
“Shit, I’m used to the good life. I really wanted this since childhood, because I myself come from a poor family. When I started earning, I immediately became interested in this cash flow. A person quickly gets used to a good life, and now it’s hard to return to where you started from. But most importantly, alive and healthy.
- When did you start earning the first big fees?
- Since 2016, when I was 25 years old. I started buying myself red caviar and just, no matter how rude it sounds, eat it with spoons. For me, since childhood, it was an attribute of the fact that you are a rich person. And after three months I was so full that I still can’t look at her. But it’s like from another life …
- Now you, from Odessa, speak Ukrainian very well. Is it difficult to move?
- Since the beginning of the war, I decided to speak in social networks and in general in the media space only in Ukrainian. It was not difficult to cross over, I only regret that I did not do this before the war. Nevertheless, the 24th put an end to the exclamation marks. And this should have been done a long time ago. How you communicate in everyday life, this should no longer concern anyone. But how you communicate in social networks, especially actors, musicians, people who have a large audience and a certain influence on it, is important. Now and then there should be only Ukrainian. For language is the key to understanding. Recently I watched an interview with a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And he says: “Well, how do you understand that these are your own? Only in language.
In fact, I have watched films in Ukrainian since childhood, read books, constantly heard Ukrainian. Despite the fact that I studied at a Russian school, I learned poetry easier, I read faster, so there were absolutely no boundaries for me in the transition. But since there was no long practice in communication, it happens that some words fly out of my head, I can’t remember quickly in a conversation and then I start talking like our former Prime Minister Azarov (laughs. - Auth.).
What was your February 24th like?
“Life didn’t prepare me for this, that’s for sure. I was so out of touch that I heard talk of a possible attack only on the evening of February 23rd. But, of course, I didn’t believe it. I confess, the brain still does not want to accept this fact. Until February 24, I considered myself strong in spirit and body, but this day showed who is really strong and who is not. I confess that I am still internally broken and cannot gather myself together. I don’t want to remember the details, because when I talk, I am very much used in reminiscences.
- What was the most difficult moment for you during these almost 12 months of the war?
- Probably the hardest thing to realize is that it will never be the same as it was. And I’m only trying to understand why such trials fell to the lot of Ukraine. To the share of every Ukrainian… My wife and I have now moved from Odessa to Kyiv. Thank God, everything is fine with our apartment in Odessa, but there is no work for me in my hometown yet. The war ruined everything.
What have you given up forever?
- From the concepts of “justice”, “stability” and plans for the distant future. Now there is only the desire for our speedy victory!
Recall that recently Ukrainian singer and actor Dmitry Linartovichwho fought in the Donbass and was wounded near Soledar, spoke about how it happened, as well as about his plans for the future, when he recovers from his wound.
