During martial law, the Cabinet of Ministers intends to allow military men booked from mobilization to travel abroad.
Yulia Sviridenko, Minister of Economy, spoke about this in an interview with Forbes.
The Minister emphasized that currently the following have the right to make a reservation:
- civil servants, employees of local governments;
- employees of enterprises that have mobilization tasks;
- employees of enterprises producing goods for the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine;
- employees of critical infrastructure enterprises.
At the same time, reserved men at this time can join the army on a voluntary basis.
According to the official, the government abandoned the “ecommute” program, which was supposed to allow men liable for military service to travel abroad on business trips for up to 7 days.
It was planned that the service would be available to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs that meet certain conditions.
“In view of the draft of the new regulation on booking, a separate “e-business trip” procedure has lost its meaning, because booked persons will be able to cross the border without hindrance if they have the necessary documents”Sviridenko said.
We are talking about the law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in November. The document was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. The Ministry of Economy has prepared a draft resolution detailing and standardizing the criteria and procedure for booking. Until it’s agreed.
“Our task is not to allow everyone to leave, our task is to help a working business go abroad to conclude new contracts, agreements, participate in exhibitions, etc.”, the minister explained.
At the same time, Sviridenko did not specify under what conditions booked men would be allowed to travel. The final decision on this issue remains with the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.
Earlier, we talked about whether those men who did not do military service could be mobilized in Ukraine.
