A police officer who caused a fatal accident and fled the scene will spend 9 years behind bars.
According to the Lviv regional prosecutor’s office, a similar sentence was passed by the court to the former head of the sector of one of the district police departments. He is also banned from driving vehicles for 3 years.
“In April 2022, an official driving a Renault car on the Lviv-Shehyny highway, moving in the direction of Mostyska, drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided with a VAZ car. After the collision, the policeman, being obliged by law to provide emergency assistance, fled the scene, leaving the victims to fend for themselves.”- the message says.
Then three people died, two received bodily injuries of varying severity.
Recall that in the Vinnitsa region, a police officer who shot at people while intoxicated is suspected of attempted murder of several people for hooligan motives.
