“Information attacks against Ukrainian banks are leaving Russia,” Andriy Dubas

Must read

Head of the Association of Ukrainian Banks Andriy Dubas states that domestic banks have been exposed to information attacks from the aggressor country for a long time. The goal of the initiators of information sabotage is panic. Waves of fakes and mud about Ukrainian banks are a sabotage, because not a single Ukrainian bank has the status of a problem now.

“The National Bank of Ukraine, the Association of Ukrainian Banks and banks worked at lightning speed in the conditions of military aggression, and the banking system survived. Now the banking system is highly liquid and ready for challenges,” - said the head of AUB in a comment to Delo.ua.

The beginning of the wave was seen to Russia’s wide-ranging anger as early as January, he said.

And it didn’t stop after February 24th. I note that all banks are attacked. Both large and not very large, and with state capital, and private with domestic shareholders, and with foreign owners. Undoubtedly, these informational stuffings are inspired by the aggressor state,” said Mr Dubas.

For example, the chairman of the board of Alliance Bank, Yulia Frolova, publicly stated that the bank was faced with the spread of fake information about the financial condition and legality of the institution’s actions. The head of Alliance Bank urged to trust only official data. In particular, check the information on the current state of the banking sector in the Report of the National Bank of Ukraine on Financial Stability.

Andriy Dubas is sure that the goal of information sabotage was and is the stability of the Ukrainian banking system, which survived even in the most critical/critical days of the war.

If it was about large or state banks, then they tried to scare them with a change in the terms of service or inflated small technical problems. Moreover, they tried to provide information in an apocalyptic tone. When relatively small institutions were attacked, shareholder issues were raised. Moreover, the fakes thrown into the information space were often old and refuted long ago. - pointed out the head of the AUB. - I urge every citizen to filter out information coming from unverified sources. All these lists of supposedly insolvent banks that appear here and there from anonymous sources are fake. Let me remind you that in June, Deputy Chairman of the NBU Yaroslav Matuzko said that not a single Ukrainian bank was in the status of a problematic one.

The head of the AUB recommends that every Ukrainian observe information hygiene, especially when it comes to financial matters, and not play into the hands of the aggressor.
