This weekend, the inhabitants of the Earth, and especially its northern hemisphere, will be able to admire an extremely good phenomenon - the Perseids. This meteor shower is traditionally well visible at the end of summer, although it begins in mid-July.
Shooting stars are best viewed on peak days of sunrise on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13, and for a few days after that.
What people perceive as shooting stars is the passage of dust and debris through the Earth’s atmosphere, in which they burn up. However, people are sure that if you make a wish while the star is falling, it will surely come true.
It is best to observe the Perseids away from cities - where there is no street lighting. It is better to choose an open area, ideally mountains.
Recall that in the spring of this year, residents of Kyiv could observe a bright flash in the sky. Scientists have found that the outbreak caused the fall of a meteor with a diameter of about half a meter and a mass of 200-300 kg.
