Diablo 4 Sanctuary weekend gave us a lot of hope

Must read

We have some good news for players who look back nostalgically at Diablo 2. After the relatively unsuccessful Diablo 3 and Diablo: Immortal, which are worth noting, there is finally something to look forward to. We played Diablo 4 and got a lot of positive feedback.

During the weekend of March 17-19, players who pre-ordered the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions received access to the Diablo 4 Closed Beta. Reviewers also received codes. We have for you the first conclusions for almost the entire weekend in Sanctuary.

Diablo 4, return to the classics

On June 6, the long-awaited premiere of Diablo 4 will take place. Fans of the legendary Blizzard series have not been spoiled in recent years. First they got a not-so-good Diablo 3 that didn’t have the atmosphere that the second part of the game brought, and then Diablo: Immortal. About a mobile game that could be played on PC, we can say this: it was very rightly booed during the official announcement.

However, after hours of closed beta testing for Diablo 4, we have some good news. The fourth part is worth the wait. Blizzard has taken a step in the right direction this time around, in our opinion. Despite the fact that in some aspects the game resembles a failed mobile version, you can definitely feel the already mentioned atmosphere familiar to us from Diablo 2.

One act and three classes

In closed beta testing, we had access to three classes. Even though there were five characters on the character creation screen (druid, barbarian, wizard, rogue, and necromancer), only barbarian, wizard, and rogue were playable. We must admit that the experience of playing each of the classes is completely different, and the new unlocked skills are a lot of fun. Yes, Diablo 4 is still the kind of game where you can pull on dozens of enemies and defeat them with a spectacular sequence of blows. The joy of this kind of entertainment is exactly what we remember from Diablo 2.

For now, it’s worth noting that the first act we were supposed to play over the weekend is good, but a bit repetitive. The side quests become repetitive fairly quickly (although some of them add some fun to the main story), and the dungeons and cellars you encounter along the way are nearly identical. On the other hand, it is worth noting that the random events that we may encounter when exploring the Sanctuary can also be generated when exploring dungeons in side quests. This is not only a distraction, but often a great difficulty. The game also features World Bosses known from World of Warcraft, ie. powerful opponents that appear at a certain moment, which you will need to find in order to defeat the group.

Diablo 4 will be available to everyone

However, the closed beta was not the only opportunity to play Diablo 4 before its official release. Blizzard will provide an opportunity to test the new part of the game to everyone from March 24 to March 26. However, be aware that during a closed beta that few had access to, getting into the game on a Friday afternoon was almost a miracle. Many people complained about errors, and after logging out, they had to wait in line for up to an hour and a half to reconnect to the servers. So happened what Blizzard has been known for for years, that is, the catastrophe on the day of “launch”.

Diablo 4. A game worth waiting for

It would obviously be irresponsible to judge a game after its limited beta access and ability to play up to level 25. However, we can talk about our first impressions and they are positive. The game has not been without some bugs and you can see that Blizzard has had to move towards a much more modern form of gameplay, interface and inventory and trading system. However, Diablo 4 retained something that was not in the previous part of the series. Feel the atmosphere that players have fallen in love with.
