After a year-long break, subscription rates for radio and television will rise again. If someone decides to pay the full amount, then in this way he can save a little.
The subscription to radio and television is perhaps the most neglected tribute by Poles, although in theory most people who have a television or radio are required to pay it (more on who is exempt from this obligation, a little later). What are the reasons for this? Some explain that they do not want to pay for public media that present content that is far from their views, others refer to the former prime minister, who once said bluntly that he was not surprised by those who did not pay a subscription. So, if representatives of the highest authorities wink not to pay, then, - subscription anti-fans ask, - why do this?
Subscription. What is increasing from 2023?
For those who pay a subscription, this year has been special as the fees have not increased. Unfortunately, in 2023 there will be no repetition, an increase is planned, and it is significant. The radio will cost PLN 1.2 and the TV PLN 2.8. The previous increase, which took place at the beginning of last year, was significantly lower and amounted to 50 groszy and 1.8 zlotys, respectively.
Currently, the monthly fee for the radio is PLN 8.70 per month, which means that the subscriber pays a total of PLN 104.40 per year. In the case of a TV (or TV and radio), the monthly fee is PLN 27.30, resulting in PLN 327.60 per year. You can save, reminds Business Insider Polska, if the subscriber decides to pay for the subscription for the whole year in advance. Then the discount is 10 percent. The deadline here is January 25, 2023. There are other discounts for paying commissions for more than a month, but you must remember to pay before the 25th of the first month of the billing period.
Who doesn’t need to pay for a subscription?
As already mentioned, there are groups of people who are exempt from paying subscription fees. This applies to people who are: 75 years old; included in the 1st disability group; veterans who are invalids of war or war; as well as people aged 60 and over who are eligible for an old-age pension and their monthly allowance does not exceed 50 percent. Average salary. Persons belonging to these groups must provide the Polish Post with a document confirming the exemption from the subscription fee.
