Dawid Kubacki became the best Pole at the World Cup on Wednesday in Trondheim. After the competition, eloquent words were spoken.
On Wednesday we witnessed intense emotions at the Granassen jump in Trondheim. The Austrians took all the places on the podium, with Stefan Kraft taking his twelfth victory of the season. Johann Andre Forfang and Philipp Raimund fell at the end, denying them the chance to finish in the top three. The Poles did not join the fight for these places, although they entered the second series together, which should be considered a minor success.
David Kubacki did not bite his tongue
The best of the white-red team was David Kubacki, who took fourteenth place. He may, of course, regret not making it into the top ten because at the halfway point he was classified in ninth position. Ultimately, though, he could be happy with the day, especially since he hasn’t had much to be happy about this season. He spoke about his feelings in an interview with TVN.
– These jumps at the competition were solid, but, of course, with mistakes. However, these were not mistakes that would make me worry about getting into the second series, and I could fight for the top ten,” emphasized David Kubacki.
A moment later, a reporter asked if the shortcomings in his jumps were a result of the competitors competing on a new hill and not having had a chance to familiarize themselves with it. Then Kubacki did not bite his tongue and referred to the poor results that have been taking place since the beginning of the current campaign.
– Errors arise because we have been jumping all season. It’s actually hard to put everything together day after day. I think I’ve made a solid step forward to make her look better, but let’s be honest, I’m talking here more in the context of further work in the spring than in the context of this season,” said the Polish ski jumper.
Final stage of Raw Air
After the competition in Trondheim, the jumpers of the Raw Air tournament move to the last city - Vikersund. On Friday there will be a prologue to the first individual competition. A competition featuring the top 30 jumpers of the event will take place on Sunday. Then the competition will consist of three series.
