Anna Kelbasinska performed below expectations during the Diamond League in Florence. After the end of the competition, she surprised with a confession about her career. The runner approached the topic very frankly.
Anna Kielbasinskaya is undoubtedly one of the biggest stars in Polish athletics, so expectations for her results are always high. However, as it turns out, in recent weeks, the runner has struggled with many problems that have greatly affected her results. She spoke openly about her problems at Przegląd Sportowy.
Anna Kelbasinskaya had a “mental reunion”
The 33-year-old took on a bold challenge immediately after starting in Florence in the Diamond League. As usual, she took part in the 400 meters, as did another representative of Poland, Natalia Kaczmarek. However, for the eldest of the white-reds, everything did not turn out the way she would like. She finished the competition in only sixth place with a time of 51.76 seconds.
Thus, the shape of the runner is far from optimal. Why? “After the championship in Istanbul, I had a very big psychological decline, and I trained because I knew it was necessary,” she said. She also added that she entered the summer season with little momentum, even though she didn’t have the “strength” or motivation she needed. “If you don’t feel the fire, you run like I did in Florence. No wrestling and no eggs, she said.
There is less and less fire in Anna Kelbasinskaya
The paradox of her situation is that she feels fulfilled as a player. She brought two bronze medals from the European Championships in Istanbul, but later she had a problem finding the right layers of motivation again. “I have been doing this for almost 20 years. I had different moments. It’s easier when you’re chasing something. Once you’re satisfied with your career, you feel less of a fire, even if you’re looking for it,” she said.
Kelbasinskaya’s confession sounded like she was slowly preparing to end her career. Whether this is true, she did not reveal.
