It seemed that due to Juventus’ weaker season, Wojciech Szczesny could leave Turin. However, the 33-year-old goalkeeper is likely to remain in the Piedmontese capital. According to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus activated a special clause in the contract.
Wojciech Szczesny was the best player in the Polish national team at the World Cup in Qatar. Goalkeeper Byalo-Chervoni worked wonders between the posts of the national team. In his account, he wrote Lionel Messi saved a penalty in a group match. However, the Argentine did not find a way to Szczesny, as the only goalkeeper he played with at the 2022 World Cup.
Juventus made a decision about the future of the Pole
The first goalkeeper of the White-Reds has been playing in Turin since 2017. Juventus is the place where Szczesny showed himself to be great. He moved to Juve after a year at Roma, and the Turians bought the Polish player from London’s Arsenal.
Gianluigi Buffon was replaced by Szczesny between the posts of the Old Lady. In Turin, they can’t imagine a team without a Pole at the gate. For this reason, according to Italian journalists (including Fabrizio Romano), Szczesny will remain in Turin for the next few years. Turintsy activated a clause in the Pole’s contract, which connects him with the capital of Piedmont until the end of June 2025.
Much has been written and said in recent weeks about Szczesna’s possible return to England. It was assumed that representatives of Manchester United and Chelsea would be interested in signing the Polish goalkeeper. There was also a transfer from Juventus to Tottenham. In the case of the London clubs, i.e. the Blues and the Spurs, it is difficult to predict that a Pole would agree to such a marriage. It is known that if London, then Arsenal is definitely number one for Szczesny.
Wojciech Szczesny stays, but Arkadiusz Milik?
Interestingly, it is still unclear what the future of the second Pole at Juventus will be. Arkadiusz Milik was supposed to be bought by the end of May by the Turin club, but, apparently, the deal has not yet been completed.
Called up for the June training camp, Milik is only on loan from Juventus. The owner of the Pole’s player card is the French Olympique de Marseille.
