The “Toss the Teddy Bears” event during the match between Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Kozle and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów brought a lot of joy. Here are her smiling results.
What specific smile are we talking about? The joy and satisfaction of the patients of the Independent Public Health Complex in Kędzierzyn-Kozel. 1,771 stuffed animals were donated specifically for the laryngology department and the clinical pediatric department. Delivery people? ZAKSA themselves are volleyball champions.
Alexander Slivka and Marcin Janusz visited the hospital
Let us clarify that the “Add Teddy Bears” campaign was created by agreement between the Kedzierzyn Club and the sponsor STS. At the ZAKSA championship match against Asseco Resovia Rzeszow, fans brought a lot of soft toys, which were thrown onto the field after the MVP award (it was received by Karol Klos from the Podkarpackie team).
“As announced, the organizer of the event - the STS Foundation - will donate 1 zloty for each collected talisman to help the wards of St. Carol and will add a guaranteed amount of 10,000 zlotys. Teddy bears thrown on the dance floor will be given to the children of the pediatric ward of the Independent Public Health Complex in Kędzierzyn-Koźle . The amount collected for the beneficiaries of the campaign amounted to 11,771 zlotys,” we read on the website of the Polish finalist.
Thus, the goal was noble, and the joy of the recipients was even greater because they were in for a big surprise. Alexander Sliwka and Marcin Janusz appeared at the hospital in Kędzierzyn, smiling and handing out stuffed animals. It was a beautiful gesture.
“Straight from the field to the hospital corridors […] Thanks to the participation of fans, 1,771 stuffed animals were delivered to the Department of Laryngology and the Clinical Department of Pediatrics. Children’s joy is priceless. We would like to thank everyone for their dedication and heart,” we read in the profile of the SPZOZ in Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
Azoti ZAKSA Group Kedzierzyn-Kozle is fighting to reach the PlusLiga playoffs
The Polish vice-champions are still fighting for a place that guarantees participation in the medal match at the end of the league season. To do this, ZAKSA volleyball players must enter the top eight of the Plus League.
After 22 rounds, the team from Kedzierzyn-Kozle is in tenth position. Still the reigning best club team in Europe over the past three seasons (Champions League triumphs 2021–23), they are three points adrift of the knockout stages. PGE GiEK Skra Belchatow is in eighth place, but the Belchatow team played one match more than ZAKSA.
On the other hand, PGE GiEK has twelve wins against the ten of the silver team in PlusLiga in the previous season. In the final balance, the number of wins may matter. Let us add that PSG Stal Nisa is in ninth place, also having one more match (10 wins) and three points ahead of ZAKS.
