The Serbian coach did not take the strongest team to Asia. Tomasz Fornal, Bartosz Bednorz and other volleyball players from Jastrzębski Węgiel and Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle were not among the fourteen participants in the tournament. Both teams competed until the very end in PlusLiga and Champions League. Captain Bartosz Kurek was also absent from the team. Therefore, Grzegorz Lomacz, the oldest player in the national team, temporarily took over the captain’s function.

The Poles have a very long way behind them. It took them almost a day to get from Warsaw to the other side of the world. There was a change along the way, which also meant another discomfort. Fans can see a lot of behind-the-scenes footage thanks to Karol Klos’ social media. Former PGE center Skra Belchatow, who left the club from the Lodz region after many years, showed sleeping players on the bus in InstaStories. The video, where you can find many players, he described with the words “Jet lag? I don’t know,” the laughing emoji added to the tears. In addition, he added a video describing the details of the intercontinental journey.
