Ślepsk Malow Suwałki finished 9th in the PlusLiga 2022/2023 season. This was made possible by victories on aggregate over LUK Lublin 3:1 and 3:0 respectively, which guaranteed a higher position in the table than after the main stage.
Miran Kuyundzhic leaves Slepsk Malov Suwalki
The club will face many personnel changes as Miran Kuyunjic will not play for Slepsk Malov Suwalki in the 2023/2024 season, according to the announcement. The Serb was a strong side of Šlepsk Malov Suwalki in the previous season. The host played in all matches of the main round and in total for the 9th place with LUK Lublin.
“The 25-year-old Serbian host has decided to continue his playing career at another club. One of the blue and white leaders in the 2022/2023 season made a successful debut in the Plus League.
Slepsk Malov Suwalki wanted to extend the contract with the host
The club announced that it is ready to continue cooperation with its leader. “It was clear to us that we would continue to work with Miran and as a club we expressed our readiness to extend the contract. In our opinion, we were close to concluding a new contract for the 2023/2024 season,” Wojciech Winnik, chairman of the board of Slepska Malov Suwalki, told club media.
However, the Serb decided to change the situation. “As a center that spreads its wings every year and patiently strengthens its position in the volleyball market, it was difficult for us to surpass the financial conditions set by one of the foreign clubs,” continued the activist of the club, Suwalki.
Miran Kuyunjic is not the only volleyball player who left the Suwalki club.
“We thank Miran for a very fruitful year of cooperation, which resulted in a very good, 9th place in PlusLiga at the end of the 2022/2023 season. We could count on him in difficult times, for which we are very grateful to him. We keep our fingers crossed for Miran at the new club and we hope that our paths will cross again in the future,” concluded the Chairman of the Board of Slepska Malov Suwalki.
Miran Kuyundzic is not the only player to leave Shlepsk Malov Suwalki. White and blue colors will not be presented in the 2023/24 season m. Adrian Buchowski, Dominik Depowski, Przemysław Smolinski, Cesar Sapinsky and Andreas Takwam.
