In his address to the National Assembly, even Alexander Lukashenko spoke on this issue, saying that he was going to stand up for the tennis player herself.

– She won the Australian Open, won the final with Rybakina. She recently lost to Rybakina in the final. She lost in the quarterfinals in Miami. We all know this. She lost because she made six double faults. I will talk to her about it,” the Belarusian president said.

Many expected that Arina Sobolenko would want to erase the stain from her defeat in Miami at the next WTA 500 tournament in Charleston. The tennis star was supposed to be seeded there at number one, although she said she would not take part in the competition. All because of the injury she received.

“I regret to inform you that I have to withdraw from the tournament in Charleston. I got injured during one of the games in Miami and I need time to rest and recover. I apologize to the organizers and fans. I really wanted to return to the tournament and play in front of the local audience. I will be glad to see you next year,” the Belarusian wrote on social networks.
