Motor Lublin has made headlines in the biggest sports media in recent weeks. However, it was not positively popular. The high-profile case of beating the president of the club by the coach came to the meeting of the Disciplinary Committee of the PZPN.
“The coach hit the president of the club” - similar headlines circulated in the media after the second league match between Motor Lublin and GKS Jastrzembe. The conflict between the coach Gonzalo Feio and the head of the club from the Lublin region Pavel Koval has been discussed for a long time.
PZPN verdict to coach Gonzalo Feio
The matter seemed clear. Fejo was supposed to hit Tomczyk with a document tray, which cut the Motor president’s eyebrow and forced him into the hospital for several days. In addition, the Portuguese had to insult the club’s press secretary, Paulina Machenzhek. Suddenly, the owner of Motor, Zbigniew Jakubas, stood behind the coach, defending the Portuguese at a press conference, additionally removing the injured from work.
It wasn’t there. The disciplinary representative of the PZPN stepped into the game and initiated an investigation into the events in Lublin. A few weeks later, the trade union commission issued a verdict, which “decided:
- recognize the disciplinary responsibility of the coach Gonzalo Feio and punish the coach with the main punishment - disqualification for 1 year with a suspension of its execution for a period of 2 years;
– impose an additional fine on the Respondent – in the amount of PLN 30,000;
– to oblige coach Gonzalo Feio to apologize in writing to Mr. Pavel Tomczyk and Mrs. Paulina Macchenzek.
Motor Lublin fights for promotion to the first league
Gonzalo Feio may be quite satisfied with the verdict as he potentially faces a long-term exclusion from the UEFA Pro course. The Portuguese currently holds an A license which allows him to manage clubs up to second division level.
Motor Lublin is currently ranked eighth in the table. Players from the capital of the Lubelskie Voivodeship lose eight points to the leader of the KKS Kalisz. The club recently announced a new press secretary. Paulina Machenzek was replaced by Michal Petrzak.
