Projekt Warszawa started the PlusLiga season poorly. This team had to stay at the top of the table all the time, they failed badly. Under the leadership of Roberto Santilli, the capital won only five matches. Saying goodbye to the Italian, the team took a place outside the playoff zone and did not reach the quarterfinals of the Polish Cup.

Piotr Graban came to Warsaw in 2019 with Andrea Anastasi when he moved from Trefl Gdańsk. When the senior coach left after last season for Sir Safety Perugia, the junior remained in position supporting Santilli. He replaced him after poor results, transforming the team almost instantly. The project began to play much better. Under the guidance of a new coach, he won nine matches out of ten, losing only to Asseco Resovia.
After the defeat from the current PlusLiga leader, the project left PGE Skra Bełchatów, Ślepsk Malow Suwałki and Grupa Azoty Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle on the field. The Polish champions were helpless, losing 1:3 to Warsaw in the last round.
