The authorities of the Polish Handball Association have decided not to renew the contract with coach Patrik Rombel. An official statement has been released.
Patrick Rombel took charge of the Polish national handball team on February 26, 2019. He replaced Piotr Pshibetsky in this post. He managed to quickly and effectively get used to the new role. Shortly after taking charge of the white-red team, he managed to lead our team to the finals of the 2020 European Championship, which ended in 21st place after losses to Slovenia, Switzerland and Sweden.
Two years later, he achieved a much better result. After entering the Euro, the Poles managed to qualify from the group by beating Austria and Belarus. They ended up finishing in 12th place.

“According to the decision of the Polish Handball Association, the contract with coach Patrick Rombel will not be extended. Thank you for your work with the national team so far and we wish you the best of luck in your future coaching career,” Handball Polska wrote on social media.
