Since the beginning of the season, Asseco Resovia has been winning regularly, thanks to which, after the first round of the main phase, it is at the top of the PlusLiga. The good attitude of his team was commented by Giampaolo Medei, who recently worked in Poland. By the way, the coach said that he feels good in Rzeszow.
Asseco Resovia have only lost two matches since the start of the season, placing them in third place in the PlusLiga table after the first round of the main phase. In an interview with plusliga.pl, the coach of the Podkarpackie team, Giampaolo Medei, admitted that the first part of the games played by his players was “positive”. “At the moment, first, second or third place in the table does not matter much. We wanted to quietly qualify for the Polish Cup, and we succeeded,” he said.
Plus League. Rezovia had her problems
Medey, who is second in the Champions League and second behind Italy in his coaching achievements, also emphasized that it would be important for his team to maintain a high position in the table ahead of the play-off round. He noted that Resovia regularly scores points even despite the health problems of the players, which do not allow to train in full force. - Two defeats out of 15 matches indicate that we coped well, and without Maciej Muzaj we played almost eight matches. Every team has problems sooner or later, and what matters is how they react to them and how they deal with them. The most important thing will be who will be able to achieve the best form for the decisive matches of the season, he reasoned.
The Italian coach, for whom Rzeszow is his first PlusLiga adventure, was asked what he likes the most about the team. Medey indicated his willingness to fight in every match, even if there are difficult moments in it. “So far I’m happy with our game. I know we can’t be perfect in every game, but we played every game and didn’t give up without a fight. This is the most important thing for me, and I am very happy about it,” he said.
During the conversation, a question was also asked about how the Resovia coach feels in Rzeszow. - The city is beautiful and pleasant, and the organization in the club is at such a level that I can fully devote myself to work and create the conditions we need, - he said. As the former coach of teams such as Tours VB, Cucine Lube Civitanova or Ziraat Bankasi Ankara added, in his opinion, Resovia “one of the most organized clubs in Europe”. “I am happy to work here,” he admitted.
