David Kubacki is well aware that he missed the chance to win the next World Cup in the 2022/23 season through his own fault. The ski jumper already knows what awaits him.

After a two-week break, the ski jumpers returned to the competition. After the competition in the Vistula and Ruka, the participants went to the battle in Titisee-Neustadt. Thomas Turnbichler sent as many as seven representatives of Poland to this competition. Piotr Zhyla and David Kubatsky did not disappoint, although the latter may feel dissatisfied because he had a good chance of winning the competition. After its completion, he succinctly commented on what he had done and what awaited him.

David Kubacki finished second in Titisee-Neustadt

Byalo-Chervony from Novy Targ showed himself brilliantly in the second series, in which he flew as much as 144 meters. It was the highest score of the day. The second longest jump was made by Karl Geiger, flying 141.5 meters. Although the representative of our country was highly appreciated, he did not manage to overtake Anže Laniska, who won Friday’s competition. The Slovenian was better by 1.3 points.

Kubatsky failed in the first series when he made a short (for him) jump. The Pole scored only 121.7 “points” at a distance of 130.5 meters, which gave him only fifth place. Halfway leader Halvor Egner Granerud scored 130.1 points, while the winner scored 128.6. As it turned out, Turnbichler’s wards failed to make up for this loss.

Ski jumping at Titisee-Neustadt. David Kubacki will get hit by the ears

- It’s a shame for the first series - did not hide the jumper in an interview with Eurosport. “I messed up that jump. I got up too late, I didn’t take off properly, and the wind changed and blew at my back. The coach will hit me,” he said. The latter, at least in public statements, remained calm and pointed out that the change of wind was the key.

However, Kubacki ended up being very pleased with his achievement. “You have to learn from your failed jumps. I went out and took the podium again.
