Roger Federer has officially ended a successful career. In his last match, he lost to Rafael Nadal. The legendary Swiss also said goodbye to Iga Sviontek, who even starred in a special video produced by ATP.

The 41-year-old played his last match in the Laver Cup, and on the occasion of the match, other stars of this discipline, including Iga Sviontek, said goodbye to him.

The Swiss made this decision mainly for health reasons. Recently, he was not himself, he could not compete at the highest level, which the fans are used to. All because of the numerous injuries that he regularly received in past seasons.
However, before Federer finally laid down his racquet, he put on quite a show in a doubles match during the Laver Cup. Standing next to him was one of his biggest rivals, Rafael Nadal. On the other side of the net were Jack Sock and Francis Tiafoe. The match was very tight, it lasted two sets, one of which was exceptionally long. The meeting ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Americans. In separate sets the following results were obtained: 4:6, 7:6, 11:9.

The farewell match of Roger Federer was watched by all tennis stars, including Iga Sviontek. “I have training in the morning, but sleep has to wait. For the last time, Roger Federer,” WTA’s first rocket wrote on her Twitter account.
Interestingly, the Polish woman also starred in a special farewell video, which was published in the profile of the ATP federation. - It’s sad that we will never see you in action again during the tournament. You have been an inspiration to all of us,” Swiatek said.
Immediately after the end of the game, both Federer and Nadal burst into tears, captured by cameras.
Lots of success for Roger Federer
Roger Federer has many impressive triumphs to his credit. During his career, he won as many as 20 Grand Slam tournaments, the last time he managed to do this was in 2018 at the Australian Open. He also won an Olympic silver medal in 2012 in the individual game and gold in doubles four years earlier in Beijing.
