The mobilization announced by Putin will bring down the Russian economy. Airlines have another problem that may not be solved this time.
Vladimir Putin continues his plan to destroy the remnants of the Russian economy. Not only have most industries been hit very hard by economic sanctions imposed by the West, but companies will no longer have employees. According to unofficial information, from 300,000 to a million people may disappear from the labor market. All through mobilization, announced by the decree of the “president”.
Aeroflot has nothing to fly on
Another powerful blow will be inflicted, including on the national airline Aeroflot. The carrier felt the consequences of this from the very beginning of Putin’s criminal aggression against Ukraine. First, most European countries, and then, in particular, the United States banned the flights of Russian cars through their airspace, and then the company had to deal with another problem. Because of the sanctions, Airbus and Boeing were banned from trading with Russian partners. This quickly turned into problems for Aeroflot, which had nowhere to buy the spare parts needed to maintain its fleet. Most of them are aircraft of these two companies.
In order to prevent a tragedy and to be able to at least partially continue work on the routes left on the offer of Russian airlines, the company’s management decided to dismantle part of the fleet in order to obtain the necessary spare parts.
Airlines don’t have pilots
However, hardware problems were only the beginning. Now the airlines, and mainly the national carrier, have a much bigger problem. Because of Putin’s decree on mobilization into the army, the crews of the planes disappear. Not only members of the deck crew were appointed to the army, but also pilots.
Five Russian airlines were affected. As Kommersant reported, 50 to 80 percent of appointments have been received. employees of these companies. We are talking about aircraft crews, as well as ground personnel who are responsible for the operation and safety of airports.
