The Women’s Volleyball World Championship starts on Friday, September 23rd. In 12 years, the Polish team will take part in the World Cup. Stefano Lavarini’s team advanced to the group with Croatia, Turkey, Thailand, South Korea and the Dominican Republic. The top four teams will advance to the second phase of the tournament. Biala-Chervone, although weakened by the absence of leaders - Martina Chirnyanskaya and Martina Lukasik - have a chance to leave the group.

This is the opinion of the former deputy Katarzyna Gaigal-Aniol. According to her, the Poles went to the group from which they were supposed to leave. At the same time, he hopes that Stephane Lavarini’s wards will take second place, but he also understands that this will not be an easy task.
- Turkey can come first. Also, you should beware of Croatia, which recently qualified for the League of Nations by defeating a strong Belgium. The wave of victory may carry them away. Our group also includes the Dominican Republic, it is a dangerous team with players who have been playing in the national team for several years. Thailand, South Korea in a changed line-up – with these teams we can win,” she said in an interview with Interia.
Later in the conversation, she emphasized the importance of so-called small points or set balance. Therefore, in the World Cup you need to play at the highest possible level from the very beginning to the end. - There is no weaker opponent, even a weakened Korea or Thailand can take advantage of our weaker game. You need to hit with your physical and psychological form, fight for every ball, - she added.

Katarzyna Gaigal-Aniol would like Stefan Lavarin’s team to fight for medals, but the latest results do not inspire optimism. So in real terms, it will be extremely difficult - I would focus on each game separately, would not look into the future, she said.
The former volleyball player also drew attention to the weak point of the Polish national team. In her opinion, Byala-Chervona may have problems with the owners. - We don’t have very experienced girls there. They didn’t have much opportunity to play in European competition at a higher level. There may be gaps here, although I hope the girls will have a “life form,” she said.
