AMC+ has released the official trailer for the second season of the crime thriller. Gangs of London, a series about a power struggle between international crime families running the titular city and an undercover cop working in the criminal underworld. The new trailer shows the various factions fighting for power in the city, as well as a dangerous new enemy rising in the underworld. The season will begin with two new episodes on November 17, followed by one each week on AMC+.
After a vaunted first series of episodes that turned everything into chaos with its brutal finale, Season 2 promises a battle for London’s soul. With the death of Sean Wallace, everything is in disarray: the Wallace crime family is scattered, the Dumani are in shambles, and former undercover cop Elliot Finch (Ṣọpẹ́ Dirisu) without the Wallaces or the force that once hired him, forcing him to work with the Investors. There’s bound to be violence as the city adjusts to its new power hierarchy, with friends and foes banding together and betraying each other as needed, and the Investors desperately trying to seize control. The only thing you can be sure of is that there will be a change in London this season.
With the new trailer, everything is set for Elliot’s return as the Investors tease their big plans for when they take control of the city. Hardened after being stuck in the Wallace War, Elliot hopes to fight back against a rising star in London, and the man teased as the new Investor powerhouse on the streets - Kobu (Walid Zuyter). His influence in the city grew, and he and Elliot embarked on a course of violent confrontation. With all the power Koda has amassed, it looks like Elliot will reunite with some of his old allies to fight back against the new order and try to regain control of the city’s destiny.
Beside Dirisseason 2 Gangs of London we’ll see Papa Essiedu, Lucian Msamati, Michelle Fairley, Orly Shuka, Pippa Bennet-Warner, Brian Vernel, Narges Rashidi, Asif Raza Miras well as Valen Kane everyone is returning to the streets of London to take part in this bloody war for power. Zuyter, Jazz Armando, Fadi El Sayed, Salem Calias well as Aymen Hamdushi this time make up the newcomers in the ensemble.
The Sky Original series was created Gareth Evans with your creative partner Matt Flannery and became an immediate hit with the first season. After premiering in April 2020 in the UK and subsequently appearing on AMC+ in the fall, the series created a buzz for its first run, earning an Emmy nomination for its stunts as well as BAFTA nods. Season 2 will Corin Hardy, Marcela Saidas well as Nima Nurizade directing with Tom Butterworth, Lauren Sequeira, Danusia Samal, Rowan Ateilas well as Meg Salter on board as writers and Steve Searle as a co-author.
