The opposition calls: President, convene the National Security Council!

Must read

The opposition complains that since then there has been no information about the country’s security and the threats posed by the war in Ukraine. Moreover, opposition representatives emphasize that the Council should be convened as soon as possible in the face of the military mobilization announced by Vladimir Putin in Russia, as well as subsequent threats of the use of nuclear weapons.

- The National Security Council must be convened absolutely, because there are two important issues to discuss: what the escalation of the war in Ukraine will look like in the context of Putin’s increase in his army, and how the energy crisis will affect us, our social security, says Krzysztof Gawkowski (42 years) from the club Lewica. - There is a real threat that Putin, who wants to arm up to a million soldiers, will not stop in Ukraine and will want to prove that his army is invincible. We must talk about it. On the other hand, energy security also largely depends on Russia, so if we do not talk about it in these two aspects, then there will be situations like a shortage of coal.

Regular meetings of the Supervisory Board

The opposition unanimously emphasizes that in the context of the war in Ukraine, the National Security Council should meet regularly, for example, once a month.

- In general, in a situation where we have a war going on behind our eastern border, and this conflict is escalating, the National Security Council in Poland should be held cyclically so that representatives of parliamentary groups are simply informed, including in such a secret mode, about the situation. , about the participation of Poland, about the participation of Poland, about what could threaten Poland, what are the guarantees for Poland, so that we, as participants in public life and Polish democracy, can speak more honestly in public debates, emphasizes Jakub Kulesza (31 .) , member of the Confederation.

Cesar Tomczyk of the Civic Coalition Club notes that the meetings of the Security Council are in the interests of the authorities themselves.

- In the situation we are in, the National Security Council should be convened once a month so that all political forces in Poland are fully aware, or at least their leaders, of what is happening beyond our eastern border, because it is a matter of security, appeal to people, trust in the authorities. This is in the interests of not only society, but also the authorities themselves. That is why I am surprised that such a council is not convened now, - Cezary Tomczyk is surprised.

Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh (41), leader of the LPS, has also long been convinced of the need for regular meetings of the National Security Council.

- The Council should be held regularly, and we talked about this at the very beginning, when the war began. At least once a quarter, once every two months… The President must convene the Council, no matter what the escalation may be, no matter what words the Russians may say. The value of protecting the state lies in building a community, and only then can you protect your independence and become a strong state. This cannot be done through the media and by correspondence, only at meetings, says Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.
