ZUS will reimburse part of the health insurance premiums for 2022. If you want your money back, please send a request

Must read

Who has to pay premiums for health insurance in 2022? Entrepreneurs must do this. If they show an overpayment, they can apply for a refund, but must strictly comply with the deadlines. When do I need to apply for reimbursement of a portion of my health insurance premium?

The agreed insurance premium may be lower or higher than the amount of premiums paid by the entrepreneur during the year. If the annual calculation shows that you paid more than you should have, you can return the overpaid funds. However, the money owed will only be reimbursed by the Social Security Administration if the claim is made within a certain period of time. Otherwise, the overpayment will be added to current or future premiums.

Who is entitled to overpayment of ZUS contributions?

Entrepreneurs have time to settle their health insurance premiums by May 22. This should be done by entrepreneurs who paid off in the previous year: at a time according to registered revenue, linearly, according to the tax scale. Due to the new rules, some people may be able to apply for a refund of overpaid ZUS fees.

“If, as a result of settlements, an overpayment occurs and the payer does not have a debt in paying contributions, the ZUS will create an application for the return of the overpayment in the payer’s personal account in the PUE ZUS. It must be verified, signed and sent back to the PUE before June 1. ZUS will transfer the overpayment to the bank account registered in the contributor’s account no later than August 1st.

When should I apply to ZUS for an overpayment refund?

The last day to apply for reimbursement of overpaid health insurance premiums is June 1, 2023.. It must be submitted by those who stated after the settlement that they paid insurance premiums in an overstated amount. The overpayment will be refunded by the Social Insurance Institute within 30 days from the day when:

  • a justified application will be submitted to ZUS,

  • ZUS will receive a personalized adjustment report for the insured person who is overpaid, as well as a corrective settlement statement.

The Social Insurance Institute also published information on its official website that if the overpayment is not returned within 30 days, the entrepreneur will be paid interestsuch as tax debt.

Application for money from overpayment of health insurance premiums - how to apply?

Entrepreneurs will receive a refund of overpaid contributions if they send the relevant document to the Social Insurance Institute - we are talking about The use of RZS-R in PUE-ZUS. The social insurance institution will prepare it independently based on the calculations in the DRA/RSA for April 2023. The entrepreneur only needs to enter the PUE-ZUS and check the application, then sign it and send it back. If the payer has submitted more than one bank account to ZUS, he must indicate in the application to which of them the refund should be made. If the refund is to be transferred to an account other than the one indicated on the invoice, the payer must submit an invoice to ZUS and only then confirm the application.
An application for the refund of an overpayment can be submitted in person in paper form at the ZUS department, by mail or via the Internet (by entering your PUE profile).
