In Germany, finishing work is underway at the factory of the well-known shoe manufacturer Birkenstock. Since the plant is located near the Polish-German border, the interest in work among our compatriots is huge.
In the “Berlin-Szczecin Industrial Park” in Pasewalk, a town about 25 km from the Polish-German border, a factory is being built for the well-known shoe manufacturer Birkenstock.

The work has already been completed. Due to the fact that the plant is located near the Polish border, the interest in working at the plant among our compatriots is very high. According to the local German newspaper Nordkurier, Poles are applying for jobs, as well as residents of the eastern part of Germany, who have been shunned by larger investments for years.
According to Business Insider Polska, the interest is evidenced by the fact that during a recent open day at the plant, queues of people wishing to work at the plant lined up.
Birkenstock CTO Mark Jensen told Nordkurier that the Pasewalk plant is an “absolutely important project” for the company. About 120 million euros were allocated for it, which, according to Jensen, is the largest investment in the history of the company. The representative of Birkenstock stresses that he is aware of the importance of the factory for the inhabitants of the region. The plant is expected to employ between 400 and 500 people.
German chain opens second store
Meanwhile, German discount chain Woolworth opened its second store in Poland today. It is located in Poznań at Galeria Pestka (ul. Aleje Solidarności 47). At the beginning of this week, the first branch of the chain opened in Krakow. Woolworth plans to open about 15-20 stores a year in our country.
Customers can shop at Woolworth stores, for example. among other things, decor items, electronics, stationery, household goods and toys, cosmetics and pharmacies, gift items and haberdashery. The offer will also include home textiles, pet accessories and apparel. The assortment of the store can compete with other chain stores offering this type of product at attractive prices, such as Pepco, Tedi, Action or Kik.
